Dr. Hashimoto is assistant professor in the Department of Surgery at the Perelman School of Medicine with appointments in Computer and Information Science and the General Robotics, Automation, Sensing, and Perception Laboratory in the School of Engineering and Applied Science. He is director of the Penn Computer Assisted Surgery and Outcomes (PCASO) Laboratory, a multidisciplinary research group that aims to translate advances in data science and artificial intelligence to surgical care and to promote the integrated education of clinicians, engineers, and data scientists. His research interests include computer vision for intraoperative decision support and surgical education, robotics, and digital health literacy.
